About Black Girls Soar
With the theme "Crowned to Succeed," created as a direct response to the COVID-19 global pandemic, Black Girls SOAR provides a “safe space” and digital convening for African-American girls, ages 11 – 22 years. This organization is designed to provide important life skills and tangible best practices in the areas of leadership, professional development, financial literacy, self-care, self-love, and more. Black Girls Soar is outlined to set our girls up for success.

Back to School Rally 2021
Curated to uplift young Black girls in central Ohio, the Black Girls Soar Back-to-School Rally provides Black girls ages 11-22 years old the proper tools needed to succeed in the upcoming school year.
The Commission on Black Girls, Center for Healthy Families, City of Columbus, and PMM Agency built Black Girls Soar Back-to-School Rally to ensure that Black girls in central Ohio are fully equipped with the proper essentials when returning to school.
Founder, Councilmember Priscilla Tyson created the initiative to enable Black girls in central Ohio to soar to their highest heights. This year’s Back-to-School Rally partners include Eryn PiNK Girl Empowerment, L.E.A.D. with Purpose, and Center for Healthy Families.
Summit 2021
The 2021 Black Girls Soar Summit is engineered to uplift, inspire, and create opportunities for Black Girls ages 11-22 years old. The summit provides Black girls a chance to be unapologetically Black and be in the space to uplift each other. Advisory council members ages 11-22 years old assist in the creative process, programming, ideation, and implementation of this event making it for girls by girls.
